Borçka Karagöl

Located in Borcka district of Artvin province, Karagöl is one of the paradise-like beauties of the Black Sea. Borcka Karagöl, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, was formed as a result of a landslide near Klaskur Plateau. The distance between Trabzon and Artvin Karagöl is 310 km and takes about 3.30 hours. Turkey’s “hidden paradise” include shown Borçka Karagöl Nature Park, in winter covered with a blanket of white, in summer and spring green, in autumn yellow, orange and red tens of tons are in this dream place. It offers postcard images to its visitors with the reflection of the trees on the lake. Turkey’s only biosphere reserve area of 368 hectares with Borçka Karagöl Nature Park, the surrounding valleys and among the indispensable nature of photography and nature lovers with its unique covered with forests. It was declared a national park in 1994.
